Hunting for treasures

Minot residents better start digging in their attics for that dusty old junk they keep meaning to throw out because the Treasure Hunters Roadshow is coming to town. Taking place March 16-20 at the Sleep Inn & Suites, 2400-10th St. SW, the show will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The show has visited more than 1,000 cities throughout the United States and Canada since 1996, and is now expanding into all of Europe. Minot residents will be able to take as many antiques as they want for a free evaluation and might even be able to sell them on the spot. A Treasure Hunters Roadshow press release states that more than 80 percent of the items brought in are turned into a sale. The roadshow is looking for a wide variety of items that many people think might be useless junk. Some of the items people are encouraged to bring in include: -- Coins made before 1965, rare coins and coin collections. -- Paper money, both U.S.
